USF Species Project

The Tampa Campus.

About Us

The USF Species Catalog is an effort to allow USF students, faculty and anyone curious enough to view pictures and other information about plant species found on the USF Tampa Campus.

The project and website started in the Spring of 2013 and was headed by Mark Hafen and Alan Franck, and the website was written by Douglas Franz. In the Fall of 2013, with the help of USF Tampa Library's Geoportal & Data Repository, the project was updated to include web GIS functionality. In late 2014, the website was redesigned and expanded to include various USF areas as well as animals, and a fungi catalog.

Future interests for the project include completely surveying the entire Tampa campus, as well as maintaing up to date information for our records. Additionally, we are interested in assisting in student-led research associated with our data.
