|Info|| This species is cultivated as an ornamental, but has a tendency to escape cultivation in tropical climates, such as the case of its weediness in the rainforests of Queensland, Australia.
In tropical countries, root decoctions are used as laxatives in traditional medicine, and extracts from Allamanda cathartica have been shown to have in-vivo anti-tumor activity against Leukemia in mice.
